I'm happy to host the very sweet and talented, Dorothy Dreyer on my blog today. She's my pub sister and awesome author of MY SISTER'S REAPER. Check out the amazing cover, you guys! Really creepy and makes you want to crack open that puppy, right?
Here's the Goodreads Blurb: Sixteen-year-old Zadie’s first mistake was telling the boy she liked she could bring her dead sister back to life. Her second mistake was actually doing it.
When Zadie accidentally messes with the Reaper’s Rite that should have claimed her sister Mara, things go horribly wrong. Mara isn’t the same anymore—Zadie isn’t even sure she’s completely human, and to top it off, a Reaper is determined to collect Mara’s soul no matter what. Now Zadie must figure out how to defeat her sister’s Reaper, or let Mara die … this time for good.

Author INTERVIEW:
Me: Describe your book in a tweet (140 characters or less).
Dorothy: Sixteen-year-old Zadie brings her sister back to life, inadvertently disrupting the Reaper's Rite. Now a Reaper wants both their souls.
Me: What or who inspired you to write My Sister's Reaper?
Dorothy: My silly muse had me thinking about a girl who could perform magic but didn't know how to control it. That led me to wonder what trouble that kind of girl might get into—the ultimate mistake being messing with an evil entity. From there, the story swirled and developed into My Sister's Reaper.
Me: Do you listen to music while you write?
Dorothy: Rarely. And people who know me might think that's strange, because there's a lot of music in my life. I sing all the time. I love karaoke. But when I write, I like silence. That way I can hear the voices in my head more clearly.
Me: If you could have a conversation with any author, living or dead, who would it be and what would you ask?
Dorothy: I was going to say Shakespeare but then thought better of it. I probably wouldn't be able to make out what he was saying anyway. I think I'd have to go with Maggie Stiefvater. And Veronica Roth. Could it be a dinner party for three? That would be awesome. Then I could pick their brains about writing techniques and plotting and flushing out wonderful stories and being brilliant. And maybe some of that awesomeness would rub off on me!
Me: What's on your to-read list for summer?
Dorothy: You should see my nightstand. Actually, no one can see it because it's hidden beneath books. At the moment I'm reading UNEARTHLY by Cynthia Hand and PRETTY DARK NOTHING by Heather L. Reid. I've got a bunch of books waiting in line, some acquired via BEA, but I think I'll start with PRAEFATIO by Georgia McBride and Maggie Stiefvater's RAVEN CYCLE series.
