Night Sky by Jolene Perry

Check out this beautiful cover of Night Sky by Jolene Perry. Jolene is a fellow writer, agency sister, and pub sister, too. Yay! Night Sky releases March 1st, and I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy!

Synopsis:
After losing Sarah, the friend he’s loved, to some other guy, Jameson meets Sky. Her Native American roots, fluid movements, and need for brutal honesty become addictive fast. This is good. Jameson needs distraction – his dad leaves for another woman, his mom’s walking around like a zombie, and Sarah’s new boyfriend can’t keep his hands off of her.

As he spends time with Sky and learns about her village, her totems, and her friends with drums - she's way more than distraction. Jameson's falling for her fast.

But Sky’s need for honestly somehow doesn’t extend to her life story – and Jameson just may need more than his new girl to keep him distracted from the disaster of his senior year.

 Opening line:
I push my way through what suddenly feels like masses of dancing couples, out the heavy doors of the school, and stop.

Jolene's favorite line: They're opposites. Sky is all tall, dark and angels. Sarah is all smooth, short and soft curves. And now I know I'm a prick because I've just checked them both out in less than ten seconds.

If you could be any one of your characters, who would it be:
My main characters go through too much for me to want to be any of them ;-D Though, I wouldn't have minded having Jameson for a boyfriend in high school.

Do you have a soundtrack for the book, or a song that comes to mind for a certain scene:
For a school project, Jameson had to find something from his birth year that he loved, and he found Nirvana. I played a LOT of Nirvana while writing this book.

When did you start writing:
I've always written in some form or another, but I started writing with the goal of being published in the beginning of 2010.

Tell us about your journey to publication. How easy or tough was it:
This is almost an impossible question to answer because it's so different for each project. I will say that I've done my research every step of the way, and having an agent after publishing with a mid-size press on my own has made a world of difference.

Will this book have a sequel, or is it a stand alone:
This book is a stand-alone, but I have mapped out a pre-quel, which is Sky's story because I find her fascinating. I'm not sure if I'll do anything with it.

Where can we purchase a copy of Night Sky on March 1st:

Amazon for sure, Barnes and Noble, at the publisher's site - they'll have a list and you can find Tribute here.  http://www.tribute-books.com/

You can add NIGHT SKY to your Goodreads list here:

Thanks, Jolene, for answering my questions. I'm really looking forward to reading it!

Jolene: Thanks for having me!!!!!!!
