Passion

I did some shopping at my local Chapters book store today and found a little gem of a book by June Cotner called Serenity Prayers. I like to read a lot of different genres but I would call this a soulful book.....or one that makes your soul feel full, ha. I thought I'd share an excerpt from it titled "Passion" by Jean Shinoda Bolen that meant a lot to me. I think it will to many of you as well. Happy Sunday!

I think people don't place a high enough value on how much they are nurtured by doing whatever it is that totally absorbs them. Whenever people are totally caught up in what they are doing-their passion-a timeless quality exists in which they are expressing the real essence of their authentic self. And this genuine essence, this authentic self, thereby helps their inner love grow.~Jean Shinoda Bolen

  2. Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote a series of novels set in a land within the Earth itself, where the molten heart of our world was a constant Sun.

In that world, time lost its meaning. People lived caught up in whatever task or dream seized them. And being cut off to the slavery of Time and caught up with living, they aged slower than those of us on the surface of this world.

    Neat thought, right?

  3. Oh, the world was called Pellucidar. And even Tarzan visited it -- and promptly got lost without the setting sun or stars to guide him!
